Jochen Muffler
Silent Partner, COO
Jochen Muffler has also been on board since crossbase was founded and, as the third managing director, is responsible for consulting and support, human resources, and finance, as well as for all of crossbase’s marketing activities.
At just 14 years old, Jochen Muffler already had a keen interest in software development: he took his first steps with the Commodore 64. After graduating from the business high school in Singen (Hohentwiel), he pursued a dual degree program in business informatics at the Villingen-Schwenningen University of Cooperative Education and the former “Daimler-Benz Aerospace AG” in Immenstaad.
Personal reasons led him from Lake Constance to Stuttgart in 1998, where he began working as a software developer at the Kohlhammer subsidiary “Kohlhammer InterMedia GmbH,” developed his first online bookstore, and—coming full circle—met Thomas Kern and later Albrecht Bosler.
crossbase was able to put his expertise in print automation and project management to good use when the company was spun off in 2001. He gradually took on more areas of responsibility, advancing from software developer to Head of Consulting and Support and eventually to managing director. Since 2020, he has also been a silent partner at crossbase.
Even though the company has been in business for 25 years, the COO believes it’s important to stay curious and continually discover new topics and approaches that can help solve daily challenges and improve processes and products. He particularly enjoys seeing his colleagues grow and, through employee development, doing his part to foster their strengths.
In his personal life, he enjoys exploring classics in art, music, and literature—a varied outlet that complements his equally varied role at crossbase.
