The Zimmer Group uses crossbase as a PIM, MAM, and cross-media solution with automatically generated language-specific graphics.
With the crossbase software solution, all product information is maintained centrally in one place. This simplifies the production processes for the media to be created and ensures that the data source is always up-to-date.

The crossbase solution at the Zimmer Group
Based on the crossbase standard software, a PIM, MAM, and cross-media solution tailored to the Zimmer Group’s specific requirements was implemented. The foundation is the data interface to the proALPHA system. The products are then enriched with features, product relationships (e.g., accessories, scope of delivery), images, documents, and text, and illustrated in the various market- and media-specific product views. These include the various product catalogs for the Zimmer and Sommer-automatic brands, available in print, as online catalogs, and as Excel catalogs.
A special feature here is the language-specific graphics. These are automatically generated using the Illustrator module. The text in the graphics is maintained as text modules. Together with product features, 36 different text types are generated from the individual modules.
Print production is distributed across multiple production clients to increase the speed of InDesign document production.
The original XML interface has been replaced by the API server. The data for the web store is provided via the “TYPO3 Web Interface.”
